natuur en techniek

‘natuur en techniek’ is a Dutch scientific journal. It was founded in 1931 by publishing house Elsevier. The content covered sciences in the broadest sense, ranging from managing nature reserves through the latest cures for this or that disease to an investigation into the use of solar panels and other alternative energy sources. The articles are usually accessible to an interested audience, however, where the topic involves a niche segment of science, some field knowledge is appropriate. Each issue offers quite beautiful but mostly technical, solid photo material.

What makes Natuur en techniek on this site so special is that the knowledge acquired then can be tested so many years later. The diversity of the offerings is very large namely : letter to the club of Rome on ‘humanity at a crossroads’ | interferon, basis for a therapy of viral diseases | pheronomen signalling agents in insects | nitrogen and oxygen in metals | ocean engineering, hydrodynamic ground layers and laboratory research | the formation of clouds and precipitation | nuclear energy on earth | tsunamis all-destroying tidal waves | genetic variations building blocks for evolution | chemicals in our food | the magnetosphere | the disappearance of the tropical rainforest | the Wadden Sea tides and currents | non-destructive aircraft research | the influences of pollutants on the oceanic environment | bio energetics | cholera | how cells divide | tropical cyclones | antibiotic drugs for humans and animals | Middle Palaeolithic finds | applications of computers | the future of manned spaceflight | hoisting or lifting | chemical control of the tsetse fly | ionising radiation and the human genome.
